André Gaio Pereira

About me

Living in London since 2012, I am curious musician who happened to fall in love with the violin. In 2017 I was nominated Young Musician of the Year in my homecountry of Portugal.
This season highlights include appearances at the Conservatory Week Festival in St. Petersburg and at Setúbal, Lisboa & Estoril and Dias da Música music festivals. Besides, it will be a busy season with the Tejo Quartet, of which I am the first violinist. I will also collaborate with Porto Symphony Orchestra as guest co-leader, with Orquestra XXI as leader, and with ars ad hoc ensemble. Lastly, I will perform and continue working on my own arrangements of Portuguese guitar music by Carlos Paredes.

“André impressed with his virtuosic skills, interpreting Shostakovich Concerto in A minor with aplomb and refined sensitivity.”
